Cocoa Beach Florida

Cocoa Beach is located on a barrier island nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Banana River Lagoon on the Central Florida east coast and links the birth of the space age with the wonder of the future, as you can easily view missiles launched from the Kennedy Space Center that is located to the north of the beach.

Being six miles long and less than one mile wide makes for a unique place to visit, attracting many visitors every year, especially since you can choose either swimming in the ocean where you may see dolphins at play or a whale in migration depending on the season or you can kayak off the Banana River Islands or even play a round of golf. With its coastal location many agree the weather is a big factor since it is positioned where two climate zones meet; the sub-tropic and temperate so this area usually avoids extreme weather conditions. Wildlife is very attracted to this area and is also known as the surfing capital of the east coast and is hometown to several surfing champions.

Lifestyle in the community is very laid back ranging from those very young or retired, even so, due to the surroundings it is very full of life with so many varieties of activities to enjoy year round like shopping. The city provides access to the beach at every stub end street so no matter what season it is you can find something interesting to see or do.

During the 1920s this area was a very isolated beach community but throughout the years has become more popular and known as a great place for those who have visited or relocated to this area. Everyone seems to share an interest in not only the great outdoors in a more tropical location but also the want to protect the environment and wildlife.
