Kennedy Space Center

Come and visit Kennedy Space Center (KSC) our nations gateway to exploring, understanding and discovering space travel and the universe. On July 1, 1962 NASA officially activated the Launch Operations Center at the seaside spaceport. The following year on Nov 29, 1963 the center was renamed John F Kennedy Space Center to honor the president who put American’s on the path to the moon and has been the NASA launch site for every US human space flights since 1968. The 1st visitors center was opened in August 1967 and has helped set the stage for America’s adventures in space for over five decades, starting from Project Mercury, moving on to the space shuttle program, International space station, and the Hubble space telescope to Mars rovers. Kennedy is also home to NASA’s Launch Service program which is responsible for launching satellites and robotic missions on journeys to learn more about our home planet and to unlock the secrets of the universe.

Where else can you meet real astronauts and even have lunch with one, explore the complex, where you can see the Saturn V rocket in the Apollo/Saturn V Center, Shuttle Plaza, Astronaut Memorial Mirror, NASA up close, Center for Space education, view one of three IMAX space films; The dream is alive, Space Station 3-D, or Quest for Life, view rocket launches and shuttle launches or landings,  take part in all exhibits, such as Astronaut training, all access space pass, Exploration space, ultimate space experience or the new Shuttle Launch Experience? Enjoy hands on displays, and multimedia shows including a live stage show Mad Mission to Mars 2025, tour Merritt Island National Refuge and Cape Canaveral National Seashore and take a bus tour. You also will receive an second day free pass to use at the US Astronaut Hall of Fame which is nearby so is the U.S. Space Walk of Fame and the Planetarium.
