The Lincoln Memorial has designed after the Temple of Zeus. The ideals of government were established during the time of enlightenment.
It is located across from the Reflective Pool. This is a memorial statue that has the same goal as others; to honor man and his words. On either side of Lincoln you will find his Inaugural Address and the speech at Gettysburg.
