MIT Museum

The MIT Museum is located in Boston, Massachusetts. The location offers educational workshops and interesting exhibits. Students of all ages will enjoy the visit. Educational Workshops offered include the following: Robotics Engineering, Visualizing Science, Physics & Photography, Hello Holography, Structural Engineering, and DNA Learning Lab: Protein Synthesis. The Structural Engineering workshop is recommended for students in junior high. The students will learn about how structures stand up. They work in teams and design and build a structure with recycled materials. The MIT Museum features interesting exhibitions. These include: Daguerre’s Legacy, 5000 Moving Parts, the Process Gallery, Hand in Jewels The Jeweled Net: Views of Contemporary Holography, Sampling MIT, and Meet the Swinger and other Treasures from the Polaroid Corporation. The Process Gallery contains works of art from three artists featured in the 5000 Moving Parts exhibition. Students can build sculptural additions to a spinning base. They can also trace the artistic and engineering development of one of Anne Lilly’s works. The gallery also offers a variety of other interactive activities.
