Willis Tower (Formerly, Sears Tower)

During your school trip to Chicago, you should spend some time at the Willis Tower Skydeck. The pupils can enjoy spectacular views of the city streets and four states perched on the Ledge which is a thrill like no other. The Ledge is located on the 103rd floor and is 1,353 feet high. Participants will also have the opportunity to play a Chicago trivia game, dine, shop, and be entertained with interactive touch screen activities and exhibits. The team can also have a souvenir photo taken next to the 103 sculpture.

The pupils will be entertained as they compare heights with the tallest structures in the world. The class can also see how many of them it would take to measure up to the height of Willis Tower. The Skydeck Theater shows a fascinating film which is called Reaching for the Sky. The presentation is nine minutes in length. It tells the story of Chicago’s rise in the architectural world. You will learn how the tower went from a dream to becoming a world icon.

The Ledge offers visitors views in all directions. As participants look to the east, they will see areas such as Lake Michigan, Millennium Park, Grant Park, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Adler Planetarium. As you look to the north, the team will see the Chicago River, the Lincoln Park Zoo, and the world-class famous Wrigley Field. As you peer to the west, the group will see the United Center, Harpo Studios, and the University of Illinois Chicago. When you take a look south, there are locations such as the Field Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry.
