California Museum

During your school trip to the Los Angeles area, you may want to visit the California Museum. The location is the home of the California Hall of Fame. The students will have the opportunity to engage in educational activities during the visit. The museum has interactive exhibits that focus on the rich history of California and unique contributions to the world through ideas, art, and culture.

The exhibits at the California Museum are fascinating and engaging. One of the signature exhibitions is the California Hall of Fame which was established in 2006. Inductees come from all walks of life and have distinguished achievements and have also made their mark in history. Accomplishments have been made in fields such as education, the arts, business and labor, science, sports, and public service. Students will have the opportunity to see personal artifacts from some of the inductees at this landmark exhibit. Another exhibit is known as California’s Remarkable Women which is where the group will learn about women entertainers, community leaders and activists, and inventors that shape and serve the great state. Students will see information on women such as farm worker organizer Dolores Huerta, astronaut Sally Ride, and designer Ray Eames.

The California Museum offers group tours of the facility as part of your experience. One of the options is known as the California Trilogy Tour. During the experience, the students will learn about history, arts, and culture of California. The program is three hours in length. It will begin with a self-guided tour of the museum which will be one hour long. Students will watch a screening of the film called Wild California. The group will also take a guided tour of the state capital during the program.
