Magic Kingdom was first opened on October 1, 1971. One of four of the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando and was the first park built at the resort covering 107 acres and has withstood more than three decades of changing cultures, a constantly shifting social climate, and an explosion of technology that has left lesser places outdated and obsolete. Somehow the Magic Kingdom continues to remain the undisputed king of the theme parks and draws more yearly visitors than any other amusement theme park. This may be partly true that it has stayed true it its original vision to be place where families could come together in a clean, safe environment and have loads of fun at the same time.
The park is divided into five distinct areas; Adventureland, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, and Tomorrowland. All five areas meet at the top of Mainstreet USA in front of the very well known Cinderalla’s Castle but what some of you may not be aware of is that a vast network of underground tunnels connect all sections of the park for those who work there doing behind the scene activities or those who are actors who may not want to walk in the open from one area to another, but don’t worry throughout the day you will see be able to see and possibly get your picture taken if you chose with some of the Disney characters who walk all over the park.
Some of the rides and attractions offered are the following; Ariel’s Grotto, Astro Orbiter, Big Thunder Mountain, Carousel of Progress, Enchanted Tiki Room, Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, Its a small world, Jungle Cruise, Liberty Square riverboat, Mad Tea party, Magic carpets of Aladdin, Monsters Inc. laugh floor, Peter Pan’s flight, Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow Whites scary adventure, Space and Splash mountain, Stitch’s great escape, Swiss Family Treehouse, Tom Sawyers Island, Tomorrowland Speedway & Transit authority people mover.
Parades and fireworks are also a family favorite enjoyed during the day and evening hours.
