Universal Studios is the only place on earth where you can experience excitement, thrills and comedy of some of the greatest movies and TV shows where you are right in the middle of all the action. Beginning with it’s grand opening back in 1990, the concept actually started back in 1981. Since opening it has become very good at creating top-notch and very popular attractions. In 1996 Universal considered expansion by transforming their singular theme park into an entire resort destination. By reaching out to industrial heavy weights including Steven Spielberg as well as hiring some of Disney’s top imagineers. In 1999 what was known as Universal Studios Escape was later renamed Universal Studios Orlando.
With more than 25 amazing rides and attractions, 50 great restaurants, more than 60 shopping venues on site, parades, concerts and shows plus hosting several local and special events Universal offers something for all ages throughout the entire year.
Some of the other more popular attractions include: Jaws, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket (where you get to pick your own music), Simpson’s ride, Incredible Hulk and Dragon Challenge roller-coasters, Revenge of the Mummy, Men in Black Alien Attack, E.T. Adventure, Terminator 2 in 3-D, and Jurassic Park River Adventure are just a few.
You also have several shows to choose from such as: Blues Brothers, Animal Actors on Location, Fear Factor Live, Horror Make-Up, Animal Planet Live, and Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue or take in Hard Rock Live, which seats up to 3,000 and has state of the art audio, lighting, and video.
Enjoy special seasonal performances with the summer concert seriesĀ and Rock the Universe which is Florida’s biggest christian music festival held in September or enjoy Halloween Horror nights in Sept/Oct or in Nov/Dec take part of the Macy’s Holiday parade and the Grinchmas, then in the spring they hold a Mardi Gras parade with live music and throwing of beads.
