Griffith Park

While your student group is in the Los Angeles Area, you should stop by and visit Griffith Park. They offer a variety of outdoor activities. There are also a few attractions for your students to enjoy during the experience. Students of all ages will love visiting this popular location.

 

During the visit, students will have the opportunity to enjoy entertaining outdoor activities. You can do things such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, swimming, golf, and tennis. If your group takes a hike during your visit, one of the most rewarding hikes is the trail leading from the Observatory parking lot to the summit of Mount Hollywood which is the highest peak in the park. Students will see breathtaking views of the entire Los Angeles basin. The park has marked trails, fire and patrol roads for horseback riders to enjoy. Students may walk, trot, or canter the horses.

 

There are other fun attractions in the park for your student group to explore. You will encounter places such as the Autry National Center, the Greek Theater, Griffith Park Southern Railroad, the Griffith Observatory, and the Los Angeles Zoo. The Autry National Center is a museum that is dedicated to exploring and sharing the stories, experiences, and perceptions of the diverse peoples of the American West. The museum has a variety of exhibitions and presents public programs in the areas of film, theater, lectures, and other special events. At the Griffith Observatory, the students will have the opportunity to examine fascinating exhibits, look through telescopes, see live shows, and enjoy amazing views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign.
