Virginia Legends Walk

During your school trip to Virginia Beach your group may want to experience the Virginia Legends Walk which honors Virginians from the past and the present. Students of all ages will enjoy this destination. Your group can take a self-guided tour of the location. You will see some famous inductees in the Legends Walk Hall of Fame. For example, you will notice names such as Edgar Allan Poe, Booker T. Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Pearl Bailey, and Patsy Cline. The Legends Walk has beautiful landscaping and is located at the 13th Street Park. The individuals inducted into the Hall of Fame were either born in Virginia or lived in the state long enough to become a Virginian. Chief Powhatan, Captain John Smith, and Pocahontas are other important people that have been inducted. There is an annual event where the new inductees are announced and where visitors will learn about the history of Virginia. There is a fascinating educational program for the students to experience at Virginia Legends Walk. During the presentation, the students will learn about the impact that Virginia has had on our nation’s history. This program is for younger children. The group will receive a collection of baseball cards that list the Legends Walk inductees. The entrance to Virginia Legends Walk is easy to access. It is situated near the boardwalk and is between Atlantic and Pacific Avenue. There is a beautiful stone archway that helps visitors find their way to the entrance. The students can take in the sight of the breathtaking landscape during the walk.
